Region: Carneros, Napa Valley, California

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes: Graceful yet quietly intense, this Pinot Noir offers lifted aromas of wild strawberry, red plum, and rose petal, laced with notes of forest floor and spice. On the palate, it’s savory and supple, with silky tannins and a mineral backbone that gives the wine focus and drive. The finish is long, resonant, and subtly earthy—proof that elegance and depth aren’t mutually exclusive.

Producer: Robert Sinskey Vineyards has built a loyal following by staying true to a philosophy rooted in organic and biodynamic farming, integrity-driven winemaking, and a commitment to making wines that speak of place. Founded in the late 1980s, the estate has become a quiet leader in Napa Valley—not for Cabernet Sauvignon, but for elegant, food-friendly wines with restraint and nuance. While much of the region leaned into power and ripeness, RSV stayed the course with a Burgundian sensibility, becoming particularly respected for its thoughtful expressions of Pinot Noir.

Vineyard & Winemaking: The Pinot Noir for this wine comes from RSV’s certified organic and biodynamic estate vineyards in the cool Los Carneros AVA, where marine influences and bay breezes help preserve freshness and build structure. Grapes are harvested at modest ripeness, then vinified with native yeasts and minimal intervention to allow the vineyard to speak clearly. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (a restrained portion of which are new) to add finesse without overwhelming the fruit.
