Region: Prosecco DOC Treviso, Veneto, Italy

Varietal: 100% Glera

Producer: This is the kind of Prosecco with a backstory that would make your Italian grandma nod approvingly. The Gregoletto family has been tending vines in the hills around Premaor di Miane near Valdobbiadene since at least the 1600s, long before Prosecco was a global headline act. Rather than chasing modern tank-fermented sparkle trends, Gregoletto keeps alive an ancient regional tradition — refermenting in the bottle the way it was done before modern methods took over. It’s a living piece of Prosecco history that’s part heritage and part downright delicious.

Vineyard & Winemaking: This frizzante is crafted from 100% Glera harvested by hand from the family’s hillside holdings in the Treviso and nearby Prosecco country. The soil here is a mix of sandstone and marl, and the vines enjoy good elevation and cool breezes off the Venetian hills. After primary fermentation in steel, the wine goes into bottle with lees for a second, sui lieviti refermentation — a traditional method that creates gentle, rustic bubbles without disgorgement or heavy filtration. The result is naturally lively, textural, and beautifully authentic.

Tasting Notes: This is Prosecco with a wink and a nudge — bright, bone-dry, and gloriously textural. Think crisp green apple and lime zest up front, fresh white flowers, and a touch of soft bread dough from that lees contact, all tied together with racy acidity and a slightly rustic, spritzy finish. It’s thirst-quenching and endlessly friendly at the table, especially with salty snacks, fried bites, or simply good company. Best enjoyed young and lively — perfect for summer evenings, casual toasts, or anytime you want bubbles with personality.
