Tasting notes: The Familia Furlotti Malbec is all about balance and beauty. This delicacy of the wine shows off a velvety blood red robe when poured into the glass. It has an excellent nose of red currant, pomegranate, wild raspberries, blackberry, plum purple flowers with notes of peppery spice. This wine is incredibly balanced and well delineated with fresh red berry flavors, savory acidity and a very plush long mouth-filling finish.
Producer: Finca Adalgisa is located in the Chacras de Coria sub region of Lujan de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina. The estate goes back three generations within the Furlotti family when they planted 0.85 hectares of primarily Malbec in 1916. Gabriela Furlotti built an eleven room boutique hotel in 2000 on the property surrounding the vineyard. The Familia Furlotti wines represent four generations of winemaking knowledge channeled into a business that’s focused on ethical as well as economic values.
Vineyard and Winemaking: From the upper area of the Mendoza River and the Uco Valley. Mendoza's desert climate, with little rainfall and low atmospheric humidity, marked winters, hot summers and good sunshine are conditions that allow the grapes to fully ripen. The large diurnal shift with hot days and cold nights, allow sugars to develop while also preserving the acidity, color and aromas. The truth of wine is in the land, the soils of Mendoza have alluvial origin, rustic with good drainage that force the roots to penetrate to greater depths in search of food and water.
