Region: Langhe, Piedmont, Italy

Varietal: 100% Arneis

Producer: Famiglia Rivetti is a multi-generational Piedmontese estate rooted in Neive and Mango, drawing on deep local tradition but with a young-winemaking energy. The Rivetti brothers set out to reinterpret their family’s legacy in Barbaresco and Barolo by producing expressive, organically farmed wines—including native whites like Arneis. Their commitment to sustainable practices (no pesticides since 2009, organic certification since 2016) and minimal intervention has helped elevate Arneis from a niche curiosity to a worthy representation of cool-climate Piedmontic whites.

Vineyard & Winemaking: The 2023 Arneis is sourced from vineyards in Mango and Neive at elevations around 500 m, planted in calcareous soils. Grapes are harvested by hand in the coolest hours of the day, often with cryo-maceration or dry ice handling to preserve freshness and aromatic lift. Fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless steel (around 13 °C) and aging is brief (≈4 months in steel) with minimal sulfur and no filtration to preserve textural clarity.

Tasting Notes: Bright straw-green in the glass, the 2023 Arneis offers fresh aromas of lemon water, yellow flowers, peach, brushed apple, and Bartlett pear. On the palate it is lively and silky, with crisp acidity, a hint of salinity, and subtle notes of cucumber skin, blanched almonds, and a floral lift. The finish is clean, breezy, and refreshing — an ideal white for spring dining or lighter fare.
